Meishai is a Danish haircare brand where high-performance haircare meets the extremely high standards of the Asthma Allergy Nordic Certification. Meishai is the result of more than 15 years of professional experience in the hair industry and a lifelong struggle with allergies by Danish hairstylist Katja Rosasco. Meishai is carefully formulated without unwanted chemicals that can affect our health and environment. We take pride in offering our customers and professionals haircare that is Asthma Allergy Nordic certified, without compromising on quality or design. We believe in a new way of thinking, creating and presenting hair products and are honored to share our vision with you.
In order to limit our plastic consumption, we use half-liter bottles. It seems like a natural choice: Haircare is something most of us use all the time. Our consumers buy larger bottles to help us produce less plastic.​​​​​​
About Meishai
In 2021, the danish hairdresser, Katja Rosasco founded Meishai with a clear purpose: to offer Asthma Allergy Nordic-certified high-performance haircare for everyone. Katja was born with allergies, and later in life, she fell in love with hair. Working in the hair industry was challenging for her; it was difficult to navigate a world full of wonderful products she couldn’t use herself. But with over a decade of experience, she had a unique vision for high-performance haircare that would be safe for her without compromising on quality or design. Meishai represents the fusion of her sensitivity and creativity.
For Katja, Meishai is not just a brand but a window to express herself. It represents her unique way of communicating beauty, where authenticity shines through. The name "Meishai" combines two words rooted in meaning and elegance. "Mei" is a Japanese term often associated with beauty, elegance, and simplicity. It captures a sense of re- fined aesthetics and harmonious design. "Shai," derived from Hebrew, means "gift" or "present." Together, "Meishai" reflects the idea of beauty as a thoughtful, precious gift, underscoring the commitment to creating high-quality, mindful products that enhance wellness and elegance in a gentle, intentional way.

Asthma Allergy Nordic is the toughest certificati- on to achieve, with the most strict requirements for a product’s ingredients. It’s a joint certification by all Nordic countries and a non-profit associa- tion, prioritizing consumer safety over profit. This certification benefits those with asthma, allergies, sensitivities, and anyone aiming to prevent future allergies.​

Our Meishai Shampoo and Conditioner has been awarded an A-Kolben rating by Danish Kemiluppen from Forbrugerrådet Tænk.
